Not mastering as in the putting long hours to be proficient in the skill of mastering which admittedly, I need tons of more time to get to that point but in the fact of mastering to make a song sound good in any environment it is played in.

No Belt: The First Steps
The process of becoming a master in any art is time.
The time put into practice can only do one thing for you which is bringing results.
What I aim to learn when looking to master any art form or anything is not the action being done but the mindset of what I am aiming to do.
Everything comes down to the principle.
You have to think in The Way first before you even begin to take action.
Developing a solid mindset and working mind is the key before diving into anything.

When learning everything from the bottom up things are hard to understand in the beginning.
To see the way you must learn to see the way then put the way into action.
I took the first step to understand that sound is produced when particles are forced out of a state of rest.
When sound vibrates depending on the wave, you can create a different sounding sound.
When I equalize a sound, I force sounds into a pocket so it will tighten the sound which leaves another signal that needs that range free from clashing.
White noise is the most useful frequency because with proper use any sound can be created due to it taking up frequency within human hearing.

Making beats is hard no matter what stage you are in making beats.
From beginner to advance to the point of knowing what to do.
The concept of a beat can come to you or you can sit down and just play to get the idea to make a beat.
As we can see from the previous blog posts within this series how much work it actually takes to make a beat.
Making a beat comes in the form of sound design(Shaping waves), bpm(speed), sound selection(waves), Scale(octave), and arrangements(pre-production).
Mixing to me is nothing more than a higher step of Sound Design and putting sounds in an Environment.

Lyrical content to me is the most important part of any song.
The beat to me only complements the lyrics but I’m sure others will say different.
The first thing when I write a song of any sort he thinks can say something that someone can relate to?
Can my words paint a picture through my lyrical content?
Some songs and lyrics have universal context due to the understanding that we are human beings with emotions.
Most songs about love and about material possessions will work because we all want more and have been in love before.

Mastering a song to me is a very interesting concept.
I actually don’t think I can really master a song.
The process of mastering a song in the business sense is making sure the song comes out good in any stereo and sound the same next to any song on an album.
Does that mean that you mastered the song though?
There are so many mixing choices to make before the step of mastering that I feels there is no way to really master a song and be completely satisfied.

As an independent artist, creating a cover song may be one of the most important things that you can do in order to help create revenue not only for me but for yourself.
This can be one of the most important ways you can show homage for the songwriter and recording artist.
One of the most popular covers songs that has ever been created and generated tons of income is Whitney Houston – I will always love you which was originally written and performed by Dolly Parton.
I grew up only knowing the Whitney Houston Version being too young to knew the Dolly Parton chart climbing original.
